I stood today on the beach of Sri Lanka at the time of sunset.

The sea calm, the sun sank on the horizon, coloring the whole sky a bright orange. The clouds drew purple and white accents to the sky and made many people pause and admire this beauty.

We are looking for beauty

There were a lot of people with a camera to capture the moment, others were sitting in the restaurant and with one eye watching their good food, and the waiters were too busy to look.

A few were just standing there with their feet in the sand, the water playing with their toes, and the wind in their hair. Perfectly in the here and now they looked at the sky and enjoyed the moment.

My mother always says “Everything negative has something positive and everything positive has something negative.” Yes that’s true! But I would like to rewrite it: “In everything we can find something positive and in everything we can find something negative, nothing is only positive or only negative.” It depends on our perspective on how we look at the world.

Everyday life includes the beautiful

And there I see the people standing on the beach watching the sunset. And many people find it especially beautiful today! I turn around with the sunset in my back and think: The palm trees are also indescribably beautiful today. And the waiter’s smile and the wind on my skin. And even things that are not so pretty in general, have something beautiful. There are many reasons to be happy.

If I just take my time contemplate about it, I find many beautiful things in my life. I do not enjoy washing dishes so much, but if I look closely, my plates are beautiful, the feeling of warm water on my skin is pleasant, and when my kitchen is clean, it makes me feel good. I am making it a nice moment.

As we train our minds to focus on the beauty of our lives, we also find our world beautiful. Why focus on the negative and the ugliness?

Be aware of the beauty around you and keep in mind that it can not be found only in special situations! A sunset may be beautiful, but if you look closely you will find beauty in your dishes. To recognize the beauty in everyday life is an art that everyone can learn.

Thank you very much for the great and empathetic support. Our sessions revealed long-lost resources and this enables me to have many wonderful experiences now.

I appreciated the way we were able to just chat about whatever was on my mind, even if it had no link with what I was ‘working’ on at the moment. That made me feel free to express myself without restrictions.

Because of our sessions I realized that it makes me much happier to live without exaggerated expectations, and I see the importance of starting new relationships with the necessary calmness.
